Warranty

Our commitment to the quality and craftsmanship of every piece we sell.

1. Overview

At Sterling Diamond, we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of every watch and piece of jewellery we sell. Each item purchased from Sterling Diamond comes with a comprehensive warranty to give you peace of mind and confidence in your purchase.

This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which are not affected.

2. Warranty Coverage

All watches and jewellery purchased from Sterling Diamond are covered by a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects: faults in materials or workmanship that arise under normal use
  • Mechanical failures in watches: defects in the movement, crown, hands or dial that are not the result of external damage or misuse
  • Structural integrity of jewellery: defects in clasps, settings, soldering or gemstone security that arise under normal wear
  • Plating and finishing defects: premature tarnishing, discolouration or coating failures that occur under normal conditions

The warranty period commences on the date of purchase as shown on your receipt or order confirmation. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

3. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage: scratches, dents, chips, impacts, drops or any damage resulting from accidents or mishandling
  • Water damage from misuse: damage caused by exposure to water beyond the rated water resistance of the product, or failure to maintain water resistance seals
  • Normal wear and tear: gradual deterioration from regular use, including minor surface scratches on metal or crystals, natural patina development and fading
  • Unauthorised modifications or repairs: any alteration, servicing or repair carried out by anyone other than Sterling Diamond or an authorised service centre
  • Battery replacement: the replacement of watch batteries (a consumable component)
  • Straps and bracelets: watch straps, leather bands and bracelet links that wear out through regular use (excluding clasp defects)
  • Damage from chemicals: exposure to perfumes, cleaning agents, chlorine, salt water or other chemicals that cause corrosion or discolouration
  • Theft or loss: this warranty does not constitute insurance against theft or loss
  • Cosmetic wear: natural dulling of gemstones, loosening of stones due to impact, or gradual changes in appearance consistent with regular use

4. Manufacturer Warranties

Many of the watches we sell carry an additional manufacturer’s warranty provided directly by the brand. The manufacturer’s warranty is separate from and in addition to the Sterling Diamond warranty.

Manufacturer warranty terms vary by brand and may offer extended coverage periods or additional benefits. Details of the manufacturer’s warranty, where applicable, will be provided with your product documentation and warranty card.

For watches covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, we recommend contacting the manufacturer’s authorised service network for warranty claims. We are happy to assist and guide you through this process.

5. How to Make a Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact us by email at info@sterlingdiamond.co.uk or by phone on 0207 499 6613 to report the issue.
  2. Provide the following information:
    • Your name and contact details
    • Order number or proof of purchase
    • A detailed description of the defect or issue
    • Photographs clearly showing the fault (where possible)
  3. Send the item to us – we will provide instructions for returning the item for inspection. Please use a fully insured, tracked shipping method. Alternatively, you may bring the item to our boutique by appointment.
  4. Assessment – our specialist team will inspect the item and determine whether the issue is covered by the warranty. We aim to complete assessments within 10 working days of receiving the item.
  5. Resolution – if the claim is approved, we will, at our discretion, repair the item, replace it with an identical or equivalent item, or issue a refund.

6. Warranty Repairs

Where a repair is offered under warranty, we will use genuine parts or materials of equivalent quality. Repairs will be carried out by our in-house Master Jeweller or an authorised service partner.

There is no charge for repairs covered under warranty, including return shipping within the United Kingdom. Repairs not covered by the warranty will be quoted before any work is carried out, and you may choose to proceed or have the item returned at your cost.

The warranty on a repaired item continues for the remainder of the original warranty period. Repaired or replaced parts are covered for the remainder of the original warranty or 6 months from the date of repair, whichever is longer.

7. Service Options Beyond Warranty

Once your warranty has expired, Sterling Diamond continues to offer a full range of after-sale services to keep your timepieces and jewellery in exceptional condition:

  • Watch servicing: full movement service, crystal replacement, water resistance testing, case refinishing
  • Jewellery repair: stone resetting, prong retipping, clasp repair, chain repair, soldering
  • Cleaning and polishing: professional ultrasonic cleaning, rhodium replating, gemstone repolishing
  • Resizing: ring and bracelet resizing
  • Valuation: complimentary insurance valuations for items purchased from Sterling Diamond

All paid services are quoted in advance. Please contact us to arrange a consultation or to request a service estimate.

8. Care Recommendations

To maintain the beauty and longevity of your watch or jewellery, and to preserve your warranty coverage, we recommend the following:

  • Remove jewellery before bathing, swimming, exercising or applying perfumes and lotions
  • Store items individually in soft pouches or lined boxes to prevent scratching
  • Avoid exposing items to extreme temperatures, chemicals or prolonged direct sunlight
  • Have mechanical watches serviced every 3–5 years to maintain accuracy and water resistance
  • Have water resistance tested annually for dive and sport watches
  • Clean jewellery gently with a soft cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners
  • Bring your items to Sterling Diamond for complimentary inspection and cleaning

9. Your Statutory Rights

This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK consumer legislation. If goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under your statutory rights regardless of this warranty.
